Part of a larger design/build renovation that opened up a living room, the client wanted to screen the stair without enclosing it.

Stair rails are complex geometries with difficult angles and intrusions to resolve into a coherent design. Our solution was to create a metal screen where a reduced set of angles were resolved in a geometrical pattern of cut-outs.
