Dual Use

The principal of the school approached us with the task of providing a multi-use auditorium space that could also serve as a meeting place for the immediate neighborhood.

Working with a very limited budget and an environment where security was an issue, we suggested a very simple square form with high clerestory windows to provide as much interior light as possible during the day and act as a bright lantern during the evening to highlight the building as an active social space.
